Northland volunteers lend a hand to Auckland
Northland’s Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) volunteers are again helping out their Auckland neighbours for tonight’s Pool match at North Harbour Stadium.
A team of 50 Northland Rugby World Cup 2011 volunteers prepares to head south to work at the Pool match in North Harbour Stadium.
Around 50 Northlanders are heading south adding to the team of RWC 2011 volunteers working throughout the stadium for tonight’s match, South Africa v Samoa.
“We have been really happy with the wonderful support from our Northland RWC 2011 Volunteers,” says Colleen Atchison, Northland 2011 Volunteer Workforce Manager.
“Out of the 50 RWC 2011 volunteers in today’s crew, 13 of them have worked at the previous three Pool matches at North Harbour Stadium,” she added.
“It’s a really long day and night for many as the catchment of our Northland RWC 2011 volunteers includes people from Whangarei, Bay of Islands and the wider mid-North area,” said Mrs Atchison.
Although Whangarei’s two Pool matches have now been played, Northland’s RWC 2011 volunteers are still working in the Bay of Islands and at the Northland Welcome Centre in Kaiwaka until the end of the Tournament.
