Reaping the benefits for Northland from Rugby World Cup 2011, New Zealand.

Purpose
The purpose of this Charter is to define and frame the intent of the parties to work collaboratively and cooperatively ensuring that the potential benefits, particularly the potential economic benefits of Rugby World Cup 2011, accrue in and to the Northland region and Northlanders.
Objectives
To achieve the purpose the parties agree the following over-arching objectives:
- To take pride in Northland.
- To tell the world Northland’s stories.
- To make the most of what Northland has to offer.
- To position Northland as New Zealand’s ‘first land’.
- To make collaboration the habit for Northlanders.
- To advance the development of infrastructural amenity.
- To derive the greatest economic benefit for Northland.
Outputs
The objectives will be achieved by the delivery of the following outputs:
- The two hosted games are well run and patronised
- All hosted teams are welcomed and well accommodated
- Visitors are provided with a wow experience they will never forget
- The region is proactively profiled by way of positive media activity
- An enduring legacy of export market opportunities, inward investment and returning visitors is realised
- The region presents and looks its very best
- An absolute example of the benefits of Northlanders working together is provided
- A legacy partnership and collaboration is achieved with the greater Auckland region
Responsibilities / Party Commitments
The parties to this Charter are responsible for / agree to:
- Collectively funding this activity to ensure the delivery of the objectives and outputs contained in this Charter
- Appropriately empowering the Northland 2011 Working Party, any and all Task Teams as constituted, and the duly appointed Regional Co-ordinator
- Adopting the protocols and lines of engagement and communication as are established
- Sharing information and applying resource appropriately to the tasks at hand
While the parties will initially focus their joint efforts on the specific priority objectives, outcomes, and outputs contained herein, the parties acknowledge that the areas of mutual priority and collaboration will grow as the partnership develops.
